First School Field Trip

Yesterday Sydneys school took all the kindergartners to Hill Ridge Farms in Youngsville, NC. Sydney was so excited about her trip, but probably more excited about being able to ride the bus. They were suppose to have went on the trip a couple of weeks ago but it had been postponed so we were really praying for NO RAIN!! The day started out a little cloudy but turned out to be a gorgeous day!! I met Sydneys class there because I had to work but when we got there we met the teachers and she gave all the chaperons your child and one to two more. I had Sydney and her little friend Melody. The trip started out with a ride on the train and then we had free time so we started with the Tunnel Slide. That was one of Sydneys favorites along with the Corn box. After some free play time, we all met and took the hayride over to the pumpkin patch for lunch and to pick a pumpkin. And then after lunch we took the hayride back and had a little more time to play on the farm before time to pack up and head back to school. We had a wonderful day despite a few glitches: like Sydney falling and skinning her knee with Mommy no where around and Mommy failing Chaperon 101....But despite all that, we had a great time!!!

Whoooooooo.....Loving the Tunnel Slide.

Halloween Trail

Last Night, Sydney and I went to a Halloween Trail at Durant Nature Park. We had such a good time hiking thru the park in the evening. The event started with a hayride into the park and then we were dropped off at the picnic shelter where we made a bat craft. After the craft we played some games and played in the park. When it was time to begin the hike the group gathered with the tour guide and children armed with their flashlights and the walk began. The entire trail was lit with luminary bags and jack-o-lanterns. Someone from the park-n-rec had gone thru the entire trail and painted all of the tree stumps orange so they would glow and prevent anyone from falling. Along the trail we stopped at different areas to listen to characters talking about different animals that live in the woods. We started with a spider and then went to Merlin the wizard, then to a butterfly, and then to the red wolf and ended with an awesome magic show. Sydney enjoyed the butterfly character the most, and remembers that she was black and orange and that she was a monarch butterfly.

Sydney waiting for the trail to start.....ready with her flashlight!!!

Sydneys bat she made at the craft table!!!! Great Job Honey!!!!

Sydney playing the beanbag toss...you are a little to close Honey,.....but anything to get the bag in....

Sydney touching some kind of Snake....she enjoyed this, Mommy was ready to move on to the next booth!!!

Sydney was chosen to help "Sam the Magic man" with the magic show, she held a bag while Sam put Frankensteins head in the bag and made it disappear. Sydney thought that was the coolest.

Senorita Preview...

At Dance this week they were allowed to wear their dance costumes. Now in the past Sydney has been for Halloween, 1st year a flower, 2nd year, a butterfly fairy, 3rd year Batgirl, 4th year Jasmine.....so I tried really hard to persuade Sydney to be for Halloween Dorothy from Wizard of Oz because it was super cute!!!! BUT NO.....She has has seen the Spanish Princess costume and is ready to Tango.....Sydneys favorite show is Dancing with the Stars and she loves the dresses that the stars wear so when she saw this costume their was no changing her mind. She says, "Mommy I will be Dorothy next year".....

So here is a preview for Halloween of Sydney the Spanish Senorita

NC State Fair....A Whole lotta Happy.......

This is fair time and we have been twice so far......we love the fair!! We went on Friday (kinda opening day) with PaPa. It was the first time my dad has been to the fair in a few years due to his health and we had such a great time....Sydney was able to ride a few rides but we also walked with my dad a saw a lot of the exhibits, which didn't interest Sydney this much but she did really like looking at the cakes that different individuals had made and entered into the cake baking contest. As we walked around a looked at the different booths, she was all stickered up.

This next ride that Sydney rode was like the "Rainbow", it was a big couch that went up and down in a circle. As you can see, she "DISLIKED" this ride and I had to ask the fair worker to please stop so she could get off....she was not the only one on it that didn't like it.....

When Sydney originally talked about going to the fair she said she wanted to eat a foot long hot dog, cheese fries, and popcorn, oh, and Pepsi of course. She also wanted to play lots of games so that she could win animals to bring home.

Sydney wanted to win this game so bad...so we had him guess her weight and could you believe that the worker guessed it right on the head....63lbs....I thought that he was far off...had no idea Sydney was 63lbs.....

PaPa took a spin at the "Guessing Game" to win his baby a stuffed animal, he had the worker guess his weight and the worker guessed 240lbs, of course that was not right....

This is the bear that PaPa won for Sydney with the "Guessing Game"

When we went to Disney last year, Sydney had no fear when it came to rides, but after a "drop" on the Tower of Terror, she is much more cautious, so we watch it first, but if it spins around, like the teacups then you better believe she is 1st in line.!!

We went back a 2nd time on Tuesday evening with Daddy. We were supposed to go as a Jimenez event the previous sunday but the cold rain had us go to Marbles instead. Sydney was totally OK with this because she LOVES this place. But after sydney went with Mommy to work on Tuesday for a class and she was extra, extra good and waited so patiently, I said now off to the fair and ride all you want!!! What was I thinking because it was from ride, to ride and spin, to spin....But Daddy got to be the dizzy one today!!!! Sydney had such a fun time hanging out with her Daddy, they played and ran and rode on lots of rides and enjoyed another yummy hot dog and Pepsi again. As you can see Sydney doesn't get Pepsi alot so when she goes somewhere and gets to have it, it is a treat....we don't really need the extra energy boost that Pepsi gives us....

Here are some pictures from our NC State Fair....A Whole lotta Happy..

Daddy thought that he could sit on the foot pedal and ride this with me....but sorry Daddy you are a little big for this ride......

Sydney taking another spin on the "caterpillar coaster". She loves this ride and on the 2nd day it was the first ride she wanted to ride!!!

Sydney and Daddy on the Merry-go-round......

Sydney really loves spending time with her Daddy and loves how he runs and dances with her when they are together!

Beach Getaway.....

It has been awhile since my last post....Fall is now in the air, leaves are changing, weather is cooler and we are still busy as ever! I wanted to post about out little weekend road trip. The first weekend in October, me and Sydney hopped in the car on a Friday morning and headed to the beach for a couple of days. We had so much fun!!! The weather was great, it was still warm and the water was still warm; it was PERFECT! We started the day with a stop at the North Carolina Aquarium at Pine Knoll Shores. It was the first time Sydney has been to this aquarium, but she loved it. I think the Shark tank and the Otter Tank were her favorites. We enjoyed yummy ice cream before we left and of course had to make a stop at the gift shop for Sydneys new friend: Seaweed the Otter.....

I turned the car around and we parked so I get a picture of Sydney in front of this sign....as she was standing there she kept saying Mommy hurry up, ......so in front of the sign stood a big mound of fire ants......I felt horrible, and my child told me to not make her take any more pictures in front of signs....(talk about mommy of the year award....)

so for the rest of the trip we checked the area before taking pictures...:)

Sydney taking a turn at touching a real starfish.....

Meet Seaweed....taking photos with Sydney at aquarium.....

After the aquarium, we went and checked in our hotel and headed to the beach. The water was perfect and Sydney loves the ocean. She found lots of shells to wash and bring home for her shell collection and to give to PaPa and Daddy. We spent most of the day at the beach and walking on the pier watching the fisherman and then went back and changed and headed out on the town; well, maybe I should say I rode around and looked because Sydney was passed out in the backseat from exhaustion. We had some dinner and then headed back to hotel to get to bed early so we could catch the early beach sunrise....

On Saturday, we played on the beach some more...no matter how many times we went on the beach and whether we had our swimsuit on or our clothes we managed to get soaked...But that's ok, that's what extra packing is for.... and then after all that we headed over to Morehead City for the Seafood Festival....we walked and looked at the different vendors and rode some rides and then started heading home.....It was an awesome weekend and I am so thankful that I was able to share all of this with my #1!!!
